Why Farts Are Awesome

Individuals are excessively tense. Or then again perhaps individuals simply don't understand how entertaining flatulating really is. Furthermore, by individuals, I mean the female portion of the populace. The distinction in assessment between the genders on the clever estimation of a decent fart is one of the most telling signs that men are unmistakably more developed than ladies. Or possibly have a superior comical inclination. Hell, flatulates are clever. So what welcomed this on, you inquire? Well today grinding away, I needed to flatulate. So normally I went to where one of my associates was standing, lifted my leg, scrunched my face up, and let ‘er tear. Clearly, that was inconsiderate. All things considered, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuse me. After I flatulated on my colleague, each and every male working beginning dismissing their rear ends, and the females took a gander at me as though I'd quite recently perpetrated the most deplorable wrongdoing one can submit. The chief attempted to keep the harmony by graciously requesting that I not fart on individuals, yet it was one of those occasions where you're doing whatever it takes not to accomplish something, yet you can't quit snickering. I had to concede that flatulating on somebody is inconsiderate. No doubt, so? It's additionally very freakin comical. We do it to one another constantly, well, the folks in any case. We'll go to one another's workstations, scam one, at that point flee chuckling as the other individual covers their nose. At that point an hour later they'll get us back. What's more, guess what? It's damn entertaining as well. So obviously when I flatulated on my colleague individuals inquired as to whether I would believe it's entertaining in the event that somebody flatulated on me. Not particularly, however it would be damn clever to them, and in the event that they did it to me and didn't snicker, I'd beat them down. Obviously it isn't clever in case you're in a bad way, yet it's comedic gold on the off chance that you convey an all around coordinated stinker to a companion. The silliness estimation of a fart is decided by the degree of cleverness according to the farter and the outsider crowd, if appropriate. The fartee's viewpoint doesn't check. That is the general purpose of getting a decent snicker to the detriment of others. I wouldn't fret if individuals get a snicker to my detriment. It's the standards of the game, you live by the blade and kick the bucket by the sword. I can take a fart from another person, however you can wager your butt I'll be conveying one with your name on it. If God didn't need individuals to flatulate on one another, he wouldn't have made it so entertaining. God needs us to flatulate in the most entertaining way conceivable. Normally that includes ambushing the nasal entries of your individual man. Flatulating is simply clever. I mean consider it, it smells, it makes an interesting commotion, and it comes out of your rear end, how might it be able to potentially get any more amusing than that? In actuality, I challenge you to name five things in life that are more amusing than nailing another person with a major stinky fart. I don't believe it's conceivable. To help every one of you welcome the craft of flatulating somewhat more, I have ventured to think of a couple of flatulating tips from a flatulating professional. In the event that conceivable, make certain another person gets the delight of smelling your fart. A fart no one else smells or hears is an open door squandered and lost until the end of time. On the off chance that you need to fart and you're remaining close to somebody, twist your can and â€Å"aim† toward them. This doesn't generally make it any smellier for them, yet it includes emotional impact and makes the experience more amusing. In the event that you need to fart, and no one is standing right close to you, chase somebody down, at that point lift your leg, scrunch up your face, and let it go. For extra focuses, attempt to corner somebody and afterward fart on them. Likewise for reward, get down on your knees as if you're searching for something on the ground. Request help. When the great samaritan jumps on their knees to support you, rapidly move your rear end straight up close to their face and let go. When somebody is offering their input and you need to flatulate, say â€Å"You know my opinion of that? † and afterward scrunch up your face and fart. At the point when you need to fart and somebody is strolling toward you, hold the fart until the are legitimately behind you, at that point discharge. In case you're plunking down when you fart, lift the ass cheek confronting the individual closest to you, that way they get the full impact. Endless supply of the fart, say â€Å"aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh†, as if you've quite recently taken an eleven-pound poop. Rapidly guarantee the fart as your own workmanship, particularly to the individuals who didn't hear it. In the event that you don't let them know, they may never know you just flatulated. Raise your arms over your head as if you've quite recently won the World Heavyweight Title before a huge number of individuals. Declare what it was that made you fart. Make a point to utilize loads of portrayal. As opposed to state â€Å"I need to quit eating so much Mexican food†, state â€Å"God damn, those three Mexican wraps went directly through me, I'll be fortunate in the event that I don't get loose bowels. † Describe to surrounding you how the fart felt as it came out. For instance, was it a wet one? A cheek burner? Did you feel like a mammoth gas bubble in your stomach flew with the fart's discharge? Do you have to go to the bathroom just to ensure a little excrement didn't escape also? Rate the fart. Except if it was a failure, in which case you shouldn't have done all the development. In any case, in the event that it was a decent one, talk about what an extraordinary fart it was and how you wish you'd had a camcorder.

To What Extent And How Has global Social Policy Developed In Recent

To What Extent And How Has global Social Policy Developed In Recent To What Extent And How Has global Social Policy Developed In Recent Decades â€" Essay Example > Introduction International organizations play a significant role when it comes to social policy making. According to Yeates (2012), the role played by international organizations, has resulted to universal harmony and co-operation when it comes to fighting social injustices and epidemics. These organizations greatly contribute to growth and developments by influencing, initiating and finally determining which social policies should be passed. A set of rules and regulations are drafted by the International Organizations to determine how resources should be distributed and what criteria to follow. This has allowed them to carry out surveys in order to determine which country is eligible to receive any aid. Therefore International Organizations are able to identify a problem, the cause of the problem and provide possible conclusions on social inequality and poverty globally (Molyneux, 2007). This report will focus on social policies that are aimed at gender equality, social security and the governance and politics of social policy. When it comes to the governance and politics of social policies globally, there are three significant areas to evaluate. These include; global social redistribution, global social regulation and global social rights (World Bank, 2012). In a bid to promote social equality in the world, international organizations advocate for global redistribution. This is because global redistribution keeps track of the recent social developments and initiatives conducted across the world. Patomaki Teivainen (2004) and Atkins (2004), argue that establishing an effective international taxation system will facilitate fair distribution thus promoting equal allocation of resources for development. International taxation as a mechanism for global redistribution has contributed to international and supranational debate resulting to a delayed consensus. International organizations still do not agree on a standardized mode in which this money will be used and what criteria to follow in distribution (Atkins, 2004). An international redistribution that has been successful in contributing towards development includes the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria among other tropical diseases (TheGlobalFund, 2003). The procedure used by the Global Fund to distribute the resources and financial aid required gives first priority to countries that need it most then others follow. The World Bank uses a ranking system whereby low income countries receive funding first followed by middle income countries. Nonetheless a country will only receive financial aid and resources if their need based on diseases is outstanding (TheGlobalFund, 2003). This redistribution mechanism has greatly contributed to economic growth in most countries that benefit from it. Recipient nations are empowered in a complementary manner by bringing citizens together for the common good of each one of them. This is because during the bidding process to receive funds, Co untry Co-coordinating Mechanisms are encouraged to form partnerships with companies and organizations in the private sector. This strategy is based on the socio-economic criteria which enable citizens from a recipient nation to receive funds even if their government is not supportive or there is political instability. As a result applications can be made through the private sector. Additionally there are more democratized, strong social and global countries (Munck, 2005). International Organizations have used the redistribution of resources among countries as a platform to allow them to interact with each other through trades and exchange of services. Yeates (2005) argues that by providing a platform to carry out discussions, analysis and for education purposes, International Organizations continue to use global social regulation to encourage free trade activities among neighboring nations. Over the years global social regulations go hand in hand with global redistributions. Citiz ens from beneficiary countries continue to get empowered as they are educated about their social rights.

The Moment Of Conception Of The Zombie - 1719 Words

The Moment of Conception For an object to be considered monstrous, it must deviate from its natural order. It is something unnatural. When a family is enjoying a nice walk in the park and a flesh-eating zombie suddenly approaches them, the zombie is considered monstrous, a monstrosity; a monster. Zombies do not fit in the normative expectations for human beings. How and when these zombies deviate from the expectations for humans is the great question. When does a zombie become a zombie? The moment of conception for a zombie is when they lose their consciousness: the essence of self. To the modern person, zombies are known as the flesh-eating, gory looking corpse of a human being that is searching the world for brains and bodies. This allusion of what a zombie is comes from the recent decade’s depiction of them in our culture. Movies Shaun of the Dead (2004), Zombieland (2009), and popular television series The Walking Dead (2010-present) all portray zombies to be a mena ce to society. They are aimlessly roaming the world in search of food, which coincidently happens to be humans, and often killed by humans in fear of their safety. None of these depictions of zombies tell us what a zombie actually is. A zombie can be defined in countless ways. Maxine Hong Kingston `No Name Woman` Free Essays

string(60) " on the functional background of the phenomenon \(Lee 17\)\." In the story ‘No Name Woman’, Maxine Hong Kingston describes unique experience of women in China and social relations existing in the Chinese society. The continued existence of the â€Å"traditional† Chinese family pattern or some reasonable compromise thereof is often explained as necessary to the Chinese way of life, when, in fact, the way of life referred to has ceased to exist. This sometimes leads an author to ignore the fact that the family referred to may be a survival of an institution past its time as a functional prerequisite of the system in which it occurs rather than a prerequisite of the general system currently extant. We will write a custom essay sample on Maxine Hong Kingston: `No Name Woman` or any similar topic only for you Order Now The story vividly portrays social life of Chinese village people, oppression and male dominance affecting family relations and destinies of women. The main questions are: What is the role of a family unit and an individual in Chinese society? What is the impact of social status and position of women on family structure and sexual relations?, What is the role of economic relations in Chinese village and their impact on a family unit? The story can be interpreted as a historical discourse which unveils family structure and family relations excising in the society. From the story, readers know that in each kinship structure there are certain generalized structural requirements which must be satisfied if the structure is to continue its existence. Maxine Hong Kingston depicts that it is essential that some distinctions on a sexual basis be brought out in every kinship structure, but the same is also true for the society as a whole. Kingston describes: All the village were kinsmen, and the titles shouted in loud country voices never let kinship be forgotten. Any man within visiting distance would have been neutralized as a lover-â€Å"brother †¦ .. younger brother,† â€Å"older brother†Ã¢â‚¬â€œone hundred and fifteen relationship titles (Kingston n.d.). The role differentiation of women relative to men in the kinship structure can never vary independently of that for women in the society at large. The question of education in terms of family structure is an extremely broad and complex subject addressed by Kingston. Three factors are always of great importance in such educational structures. In general, these are: (1) the content of the education, (2) the methods by which it is taught, and (3) the person or persons who carry out the teaching. There is a tendency to devote a larger proportion of one’s concern to what is taught than to the other two categories (Stockman 27). Kingston describes that the methods used, the systems of rewards and punishments by which the learning process is bolstered, and the roles of the primary teachers are of equal importance. The above remarks apply to family education in general and that of children raised from birth within the family in particular. Some special mention must also be made of the education of members brought into the family from outside at a more mature age. There are two major types of such individuals–those brought in by adoption and those brought in by marriage. The former may be brought in while quite young, and the earlier the age at which the adoption is made the more closely do the educational features of the case resemble those of the raising of other children (Shu 199). To the degree that the adopted person is mature, and always in the case of marriage, there is the problem of introducing the new member to the specific family personalities and the particular family situation in which the new member will in future act. Kingston tells readers that: When the family found a young man in the next village to be her husband, she had stood tractably beside the best rooster, his proxy, and promised before they met that she would be his forever. She was lucky that he was her age and she would be the first wife, an advantage secure now (Kingston, n.d.). There is in all family systems a specifically institutionalized method of integration of new members, though the rigidity of the system and the sphere of action covered by it may vary enormously. In these respects, the introduction of new members via marriage is far more important than any other mode of their introduction. â€Å"Maxine’s aunt, face blame for exposing their communities to the threat of death or actual death in relation to outside forces† (Griffiths 353). The other major mode, adoption, never occupies so strategic a role numerically, since in every family there must be at least one such introduction by marriage, whereas adoption is not necessarily so ubiquitous in family systems. Role differentiation in family structure is depicted as the distribution of persons among the various positions and activities distinguished in the kinship structure and hence the differential arrangement of the members of the structure. This immediately raises the question of the terms on which differential arrangement is made. â€Å"Brothers and sisters, newly men and women, had to efface their sexual color and present plain miens. Disturbing hair and eyes, a smile like no other, threatened the ideal of five generations living under one roof† (Kingston, n.d.). Kingston depicts that the members of society must always recognize some structure of role differentiation and orient their action to it. Therefore, although the primary basis of a given role differentiation might be, for example, political, the phenomena involved cannot be understood solely in terms of the political variable. Whatever the basis of the differential arrangement of members in a society or group, the action of members of the group and of outsiders in their relations with this group must in part be specifically oriented to this inescapable arrangement. Thus differentiation may be to a marked degree interdependent with one or more of the other four structures to be discussed here, but it is never a dependent variable of one or of any combination of them. Before going further into this aspect of role differentiation, however, a word or so more needs be said on the functional background of the phenomenon (Lee 17). You read "Maxine Hong Kingston: `No Name Woman`" in category "Essay examples" First, there is the distribution of individuals among the total number of positions of whatever sort in the structure under consideration. This must be done regardless of how numerous or varied either the positions or the individuals may be (Shapiro 5). The number and variety of both categories will, of course, have substantial effect upon the concrete result, but the status of the requirement as a requirement is not affected by these considerations. The line drawn between the sexes in these respects is sharp and is one of the main factors in the consideration of the family problems. There are, of course, other possibilities of variation along these lines. One other interesting aspect of role differentiation on a basis of sex distinction is that it is so frequently a focus for stress in changing social systems. This usually puts considerable pressure on those patterns which institutionalize a sex differential regardless of objective criteria. â€Å"My aunt could not have been the lone romantic who gave up everything for sex. Women in the old China did not choose† (Kingston, n.d.). This is apt to be peculiarly true when the changes being made are in the direction of industrialization. The institutional basis of industrialized societies must lay peculiar stress on the differentiation of individuals on a universalistic basis. Economic allocation in kinship structure has been defined above as the distribution of the goods and services making up the income of the units of the structure and of the goods and efforts making up the output of the units of the structure among the various members of the units. Economic activities and interrelations, insofar as their sphere is confined to kinship orientations, are best studied for present purposes as they operate within the family. There are, of course, all sorts of economic relations defined in the relational approach to kinship, but, changing as this does with every change of ego, description of the relations is confined to descriptions of ego’s relations with other specific relatives, and any systematic operations of kinship groups fall from the picture (Stockman 67). To survive physically, the members of these groups must obtain and distribute these requirements. â€Å"In the village structure, spirits shimmered among the live creatures, balanced and held in equilibrium by time and land† (Kingston, n.d.). The story portrays that the members of the familial and family groups must have food, shelter, clothing, and similar necessities if they are to survive physically. â€Å"In patriarchal culture, these stories function within what Sandra Lee Bartky has called a â€Å"pedagogy of shame† that instructs young girls to learn about the inherent danger and corruption of their bodies† (Griffiths 353). These requirements are not in the nature of free goods as that concept is defined by the economists, and even if they were, the problem of distribution would still arise in the social context to offset the effect of jealousies which might well arise no matter how homogeneous the articles concerned might be intrinsically, and so forth. The link between the family groups and the larger economic aspects of the society as a whole has an additional importance since the status of the entire family in industrialized societies tends to be largely dependent upon the occupational role of the member or members upon whom the group depends for the bulk of its support. The second question of the directness of the contribution to the family needs has as its limiting case the self-sufficient agricultural family. Here the family might produce all it consumed without reference to exchange for any purpose with individuals or groups outside the family. The situation of the modern industrial worker’s family is at great variance with this since the overwhelming bulk of the income in this case is in the form of money power–earned for work having no necessary connection with the goods and services for which they are spent (Stockman 76). Critics admit that: â€Å"Kingstone’s style of appropriation reveals the boundaries that define the older narrative as fortresses, and the ways these intellectual fortresses mirror other, fortress-like ideological formations† (Shapiro 5). Kingston describes that this residual core of family duties which are performed directly is important because the duties are so often integrally connected with the substructure of role differentiation in general and that of sex roles in particular. The story shows that villagers depend upon the voluntary submission of the family members due to the inculcation of the value system of the society of which they are a part. â€Å"The villagers punished her for acting as if she could have a private life, secret and apart from them† (Kingstone n.d.). There have been cases of sons who have even stood unrestrained and permitted themselves to be beaten nearly to death by their fathers for faults committed. Such extremes are unusual, but they indicate the lengths to which these matters carry. Other factors in the implementation of power and responsibility are the interrelations with other family substructures which bolster their exercise. â€Å"But Maxine has increasing trouble applying this framework to the complexities of her family’s story and to the complexities of American and Chinese societies† (Lee 17). It has already been pointed out above that the patterns of economic allocation, role differentiation, and solidarity are intensely important in these respects. This must not be taken to indicate any particular general causal priority of one of these elements over the others. In sum, family structure depends upon and determines economic and social relations dominated in the society. The story â€Å"No Name Women† is a good historical source which helps to understand the role of family in economic relations and social values. Responsibility here means the accountability to other individuals or groups of an individual or individuals for his or their own acts or the acts of others. Social values and strong family relations portray that social action within certain limits is always an extreme, and in a sense it is the symbol of social frustration. Nevertheless, if the family is to function as a unit, it must be possible to see to it that certain requirements are met, by force if necessary, and it must be possible to take a definite person or persons to account if they fail to meet the family values. Parallels by Fates Warning free essay sample

Fates Warning is an American progressive metal much like its biggest colleague Queensryche. The have been around since the mid 80s and also have an almost clear influence on a certain heavy metal band I like(Iron Maiden) and you can definitely hear it in their sound. Their vocalist, for this album at least, even sounds alot like Geoff Tate from, well, Queensryche. Parallels is likely the album that many Fates Warning fans know them for and/or are introduced to from the band. A little fun fact here, when having thank yous for this album, they spelled Dream Theaters name with the old English spelling Theatre. Then for Dream Theaters Images and Words they did the same thing with Fates Warning and instead spell it Fatez Warning just to get back at the joke. As for the album its self, it surly does follow alot of 80s and early 90s progressive and heavy metal traits. We will write a custom essay sample on Parallels by Fates Warning or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page They seem to have alot radio-like tracks, alot of more floaty instrumentation and they often have tracks no longer than 7 or 8 minutes. Fates Warning managed all of that in one album. Tracks like Leave The Past Behind and Point of View are more representative of their heavy metal side that many people came to know them by and also seem more radio friendly. On the contrary, tracks like The Eleventh Hour represent the softer, ballady side of their music which was also very present highly in the 80s and 90s with bands like Metallica, Judas Priest and Pantera continuing this trend very heavily. The music is great to listen and somehow doesnt sound like Empire by Queensryche released a year prior. I find alot of it to be kind of mainstay for heavy metal, but it is this formula that make these bands enjoyable to me. I may find the music to be kind of cheesy at least in the more cliched fashion, but that is no reason to not like something. Not at all. Yeah, I could deal with a tad bit more originality, frankly thats my only gripe, however I decided to settle with what I got, and what I got was something of the ages. I give this album an 8/10. I am the Grim Reaper, signing off.

New Fingerprint Detection Technology Developed

New Fingerprint Detection Technology Developed In an era of advanced DNA technology, fingerprint evidence may be considered old school forensics, but its not as outdated as some criminals may think. Advanced fingerprinting technology now makes developing, collecting, and identifying fingerprint evidence easier and quicker. In some cases, even trying to wipe fingerprints clean from a crime scene may not work. Not only has the technology for collecting fingerprint evidence improved, but the technology used to match fingerprints to those in the existing database has been significantly improved. Advance Fingerprint Identification Technology In 2011, the FBI launched its Advance Fingerprint Identification Technology (AFIT) system which enhanced fingerprint and latent print processing services. The system increased the accuracy and daily processing capacity of the agency and also improved the systems availability. The AFIT system implemented a new fingerprint matching algorithm which increased the accuracy of fingerprint matching from 92% to more than 99.6%, according to the FBI. During the first five days of operation, AFIT matched more than 900 fingerprints that were not matched using the old system. With AFIT on board, the agency has been able to reduce the number of required manual fingerprint reviews by 90%. Prints From Metal Objects In 2008, scientists at the University of Leicester in Great Britain developed a technique that will enhance fingerprints on metal objects from small shell casings to large machine guns. They found that chemical deposits that form fingerprints have electrical insulating characteristics, which can block electric current even if the fingerprint material is very thin, only nanometers thick. By using electric currents to deposit a colored electro-active film which shows up in the bare regions between the fingerprint deposits, researchers can create a negative image of the print in what is known as an  electrochromic image. According to the Leicester forensic scientists, this method is so sensitive it can even detect fingerprints from metal objects even if they have been wiped off or even washed off with soapy water. Color-Changing Florescent Film Since 2008, Professor Robert Hillman and his Leicester associates have further enhanced their process by adding fluorophore molecules to the film which is sensitive to light and ultra-violet rays. Basically, the fluorescent film gives scientist and extra tool in developing contrasting colors of latent fingerprints - electrochromic and fluorescence. The fluorescent film provides a third color that can be adjusted to develop a high-contrast fingerprint image. Micro-X-Ray Florescence The development of the Leicester process followed a 2005 discovery by University of California scientists working at Los Alamos National Laboratory using micro-X-ray fluorescence, or MXRF, to develop fingerprint imaging. MXRF detects the sodium, potassium and chlorine elements present in salts, as well as many other elements  if they are present in the fingerprints. The elements are detected as a function of their location on a surface, making it possible to see a fingerprint where the salts have been deposited in the patterns of fingerprints, the lines called friction ridges by forensic scientists. MXRF actually detects the sodium, potassium and chlorine elements present in those salts, as well as many other elements, if they are present in the fingerprints. The elements are detected as a function of their location on a surface, making it possible to see a fingerprint where the salts have been deposited in the patterns of fingerprints, the lines called friction ridges by forensic scientists. Noninvasive Procedure The technique has several advantages over traditional fingerprint detection methods that involve treating the suspect area with powders, liquids, or vapors in order to add color to the fingerprint so that it can be easily seen and photographed. Using traditional fingerprint contrast enhancement, it is sometimes difficult to detect fingerprints present on certain substances, such as multicolored backgrounds, fibrous papers and textiles, wood, leather, plastic, adhesives and human skin. The MXRF technique eliminates that problem and is noninvasive, meaning a fingerprint analyzed by the method is left pristine for examination by other methods like DNA extraction. Los Alamos scientist Christopher Worley said MXRF is not a panacea for detecting all fingerprints  since some fingerprints will not contain enough detectable elements to be seen. However, it is envisioned as a viable companion to the use of traditional contrast enhancement techniques at crime scenes, since it does not require any chemical treatment steps, which are not only time consuming  but can permanently alter the evidence. Forensic Science Advances While many advances have been made in the field of forensic DNA evidence, science continues to make progress in the field of fingerprinting development and collection, making it increasing more probably that should a criminal leave  behind any evidence at all at the crime scene, he will be identified. New fingerprint technology has increased the likelihood of investigators developing evidence that will withstand challenges in court.

TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH FOR PRACTICE & POPULATIONS Essay

TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH FOR PRACTICE & POPULATIONS - Essay Example Additionally, the disease is also caused owing to the consumption of various tobacco products, and diseases like diabetes mellitus and high blood pressure among others. Two types of AMI are commonly identified in medical practices that include ST-segment elevated i.e. ‘ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction’ (STEMI) and not ST-segmenting elevated i.e. ‘Non ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction’ (NSTEMI). Both STEMI and NSTEMI are diagnosed with the assistance of Electrocardiogram (ECG) test. STEMI is the acute form of heart attack, which highly damages the muscles of the heart, unlike NSTEMI, which often damages in a milder form. Contextually, the period of time from the entrance of a patient to a health care center to the first balloon inflation in the primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is known as Door to Balloon Time (DBT). If the time in DBT is more than the 90 minutes, which is widely accepted, then the probability of seriousness of a patient’s health increases and mortality increases, this may even lead to the death of a patient (Topol & Teirstein, 2011). Correspondingly, the objective of the essay is to improve the quality of service in health center to minimize DBT. The essay also considers the changes and improvement required in current nursing practices in different hospitals and healthcare centers for better care as well as treatment services. The introduction of the master’s prepared nurses is also taken into consideration with the aim of transforming the body of knowledge practiced by nurses. The development of the nursing practice in healthcare centers has been accomplished in recent times with the introduction of various medical technologies. The emergence of World Health Organization (WHO) also facilitated the improvement of nursing practices in the developing nations. However, there are certain issues regarding nursing practices that have appeared simultaneously and are required to be sorted.

Immigration and Social Problems Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Immigration and Social Problems - Research Paper Example Immigration brings many benefits for the developed countries, such as, increase in the GDP, increase in the available workforce, increase in precious talent, and increase in the number of hardworking individuals. However, immigration also causes some problems for the developed countries, such as, increase in the number of crimes, increase in violence, law breaking, and decreased employment opportunities. This study will focus on the benefits that immigrants bring to the United States of America. Along with this, crimes and drug trafficking, which are two of the major problems caused by immigrants in the United States, will also come under discussion. The study will also show how people can think positively about immigrants and how they can solve problems caused by immigrants. Thesis Statement The thesis statement for the paper is that: People should understand that not all immigrants are bad; rather they play a very considerable role in strengthening the economy of the United States. Problems Caused by Immigrants A major part of the illegal immigrants living in the United States is originally from Mexico. Researches prove that approximately 13.2 million illegal immigrants living in the United States are Mexican-Americans. Increase in the number of crimes and drug trafficking are the most significant problems caused by the immigrants in the United States of America. ... If we talk about the United States of America, increased rate of crimes due to illegal immigrations is not an exception. Various researches show that illegal immigrants have increased the overall number of crimes in the country and the main reasons behind that increase are the social and financial issues of the immigrants. Moreover, the mindset of some immigrants is such that they like to get involved in criminal activities, such as, rape and adultery. Such immigrants are sexually frustrated and when they find easy target somewhere, they do not hesitate to fulfill their desires. However, women of illegal immigrants are also not safe and they are also the targets of smugglers and criminals. Taxin, in an article, gives a proof of such cases and states, â€Å"An 8-year-old Salvadoran girl who reported she was raped by immigrant smugglers in Mexico has been reunited with family in the United States†. Increase in the terrorist attacks in developed countries and threats of terrorism are also associated with the issue of illegal immigrations. The famous and dreadful incident of 9/11 is also an outcome of the illegal immigrants’ issue where a group of terrorists hijacked a couple of planes and hit them with the world trade center. Drug Trafficking Drug trafficking, is also one of the most critical issues associated with large-scale immigrations to the United States of America. Go states, â€Å"The US suffers an annual loss of about 70 billion dollars due to drug-related illnesses, death, and drug related crimes†. Drug trafficking is a business which earns a lot of money to the drug dealers, manufacturers, and all other people involved in this business. The immigrants involved in this

Falls Of Miltons Eve And Doctor Faustus Religion Essay

Falls Of Miltons Eve And Doctor Faustus Religion Essay In this essay I am going to be comparing the falls of Eve in John Miltons Paradise Lost, first published in 1667 and Doctor Faustus in Christopher Marlowes The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus, first published in 1604 The notion of the Fall of man originates in the Bible where it is recorded in the book of Genesis. It has been interpreted both literally, as a description of historical events and symbolically as a spiritual truth. The Fall refers to the transition of the first created humans, Adam and Eve from their original state of perfection, to a state of guilt and disobedience to God. The notion of Adam and Eves perfection comes from Genesis 1:31 where we are told that God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. This notion was also reinforced by St. Augustine, who believed that Mans nature indeed, was created at first faultless and without any sin. In Genesis 2:16-17, God forbids Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil: And the Lord  God commanded the man, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;  but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.' This is essentially the beginning of the series of events that lead to the Fall, because it is shortly after this that Eve is deceived by the serpent into eating from that tree, and shares it with Adam. We are told that the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animal that the Lord God had made (Gen 3:1) and later, in the book of Revelations, we are led to believe that the serpent was in fact Satan in disguise: The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan. (Rev 12:9) Adam and Eve are consequently banished from the Garden of Eden by God and as punishment for their sin, sent to live on Earth. They are also banned from eating from the Tree of Life again, which is how Christians believe death entered the world. This is known as the Fall of Man. The Biblical story of Adam and Eve forms the basis for Miltons Paradise Lost, and he too seems to adopt the Augustinian view that Adam and Eve are two perfect and fully developed humans. This is shown when: Adam soon repealed The doubts that in his heart arose: and now Led on, yet sinless Unlike the Biblical Adam and Eve however, Milton gives us the impression that Eve is inferior to Adam since Adam was created to mirror Gods divine authority and Eve was created merely to satisfy Adams desire for a companion. Throughout the poem we realise that Eve never experiences God directly; Adam experiences God and Eve experiences Adam, who appears to act as an intermediary between her and God: For contemplation hee and valour formd,   For softness shee and sweet attractive Grace,   Hee for God only, shee for God in him. It is this sense of divine hierarchy that seems to make Eve more susceptible to Satans temptation, because during the series of events which contribute towards the eventual Fall, Satan plays on Eves desire for autonomy and a connection to the universe outside of Adams shadow. The sequence of event leading to Eves fall begins when she is asleep one night and Satan attempts to plant his tempting thoughts in her mind. Satans effect is reflected in her dream when an angel tempts her to eat from the Tree of Knowledge: Taste this, and be henceforth among the Gods   Thy self a Goddess, not to Earth confind. This plays on Eves desire to achieve a direct relationship with God. The second significant factor is her determination to spend time alone on the fateful day; she wakes up in an independent mood and insists that her and Adam attend to the garden separately, despite Adams attempts at dissuading her. It is at this point, when she is pleased with herself for achieving some autonomy that she comes across the serpent. In order to be successful in leading Eve astray, the serpent attempts to eliminate her fear of disobeying God. He begins by making her doubt the existence of death and evil: Those rigid threats of Death; ye shall not Die:   How should ye? by the Fruit? it gives you Life   To Knowledge? By the Threatner, look on mee,   Mee who have touchd and tasted, yet both live,   And life more perfet have attaind then Fate   Meant mee, by ventring higher then my Lot. The serpent then continues to try and make her doubt God himself by suggesting that God has only forbidden her to eat from the Tree of Knowledge so as to keep her ignorant, rather than becoming powerful and knowledgeable: Of good, how just? of evil, if what is evil   Be real, why not known, since easier shunnd?   God therefore cannot hurt ye, and be just;   Not just, not God; not feard then, nor obeid:   Your feare it self of Death removes the feare.   Why then was this forbid? Why but to awe,   Why but to keep ye low and ignorant,   His worshippers; he knows that in the day   Ye Eate thereof, your Eyes that seem so cleere,   Yet are but dim, shall perfetly be then   Opnd and cleerd, and ye shall be as Gods,   Knowing both Good and Evil as they know. Here Satan is playing on Eves perception of the divine hierarchy and her feelings of inferiority to both Adam and God, by offering her an opportunity to do what she believes will lead to a direct relationship with God. It is at this point that we begin to see Eves final error as intellectual rather than moral. In the moment before she eats from the tree, she pauses and thinks. She still allows her reason to guide her, but Satans deception of her mind misinforms her will. Her reasoning is quite sound, however it is based on the belief that the serpent is telling the truth. This, one of the main premises in her decision, is in fact false. After eating from the tree of knowledge, her nature and attitude towards her relationship towards Adam have been changed by sin. Having imagined an existence outside of Adams perception during her conversation with the serpent, she now finds herself consumed with a selfish desire to share her fate with Adam, because she can no longer conceive of separation from him.

Does Classical Music Have an Effect on Infants Brain...

Does Classical Music Have an Effect on Infants Brain Development? In 1998, Zell Miller, the governor of the state of Georgia, started a new program that distributed free CDs with classical music to the parents of every newborn baby in Georgia. Why did he do this? He certainly was not just trying to be nice and win a political statement; instead, his idea came from a new line of research showing a link between listening to classical music and enhanced brain development in infants. (1) So, what evidence was there for this governor to make a $105,000 proposal to give classical music for the newborn babies? I considered how my sister and I took music lessons, the Suzuki method, since we were 7 or 8 years old, and how my mother†¦show more content†¦(2) However, soon enough, it was found that these results lasted only 10-15 minutes and more research quickly was undertaken by various groups all over the world. However, before continuing in this search of the validity of the Mozart effect, I feel like there needs to be a definition of intelligence. Since we learned how tricky notions of words can be on our minds from class, I took the liberty to search for how intelligence is measured and decided to take the definition used by Wilfried Gruhn as being associated with cognitive and intellectual capacity, the psychobiological potential to solve problems. This can be correlated with higher speed in neuronal signal transmission and signal processing, stronger and more efficient neuronal interconnectivity, and high correlation between IQ and neuronal activity (r=0.50 - 0.70). (3) Now, if brain = behavior as we are learning in class (4), then there indeed should be a measurable correlation between musically trained minds and their intelligence. In addition, there must be one or more parts of the brain which are responsible for both these two behaviors of being musically inclined and intelligent. And since the measure of intelligence is defined mainly concerning the brain activity, I delved into the effects on music on brain idea that has always been accepted in my childhood. Assuming that brain = behavior, I wanted to find outShow MoreRelated Musics Effect on Intelligence Essay1194 Words   |  5 PagesMusics Effect on Intelligence Music is said to affect the intellect of humans in several different ways.
